Repeat Prescriptions

medication4If you need to take tablets or medicine regularly, your doctor may issue repeat prescriptions without seeing you. Please keep the request form safe as you will need this to re-order.  Always clearly mark which items you require. 

Repeat prescriptions collected from the Surgery are available after 1.00pm 2 days after the request is made ie

request made on Monday available for collection Wednesday after 1.00pm

request made on Tuesday available for collection Thursday after 1.00pm

request made on Wednesday available for collection Friday after 1.00pm

request made on Thursday available for collection Monday after 1.00pm

request made on Friday available for collection Tuesday after 1.00pm

If your prescription is collected by a Pharmacy you need to allow additional time for this to occur.  Prescriptions collected by Rowlands Pharmacy (next door to Kingswood Surgery) will be available for collection after 4.00pm.

Your prescription will be available for collection within 48 hours of being requested, excluding Bank holidays and weekends.

Re-ordering

  • You or a friend may bring the request form to the Surgery
  • You can telephone 535544 between 12.00 noon and 6.00pm Monday to Friday.  Have the request form with you when you telephone as you will be asked for your patient number and full details of the medication to be ordered. 
  • You can send a stamped addressed envelope with your request form and your prescription will be posted.
  • You can ask your local chemist if an order/collection/delivery service operates.
  • Use the online form - follow the link at the top of this page to register or to use the system if you are already registered.

Try not to run out of tablets or medicine, nor ask for more than you need. All repeat prescriptions are reviewed by your doctor from time to time.  Sometimes you will be asked to make an appointment for this review.
