To see that your children are growing and developing normally, a planned programme of health checks is provided by the Health Visitors and doctors for children up to 5 years of age.
Children should be protected by starting their immunisations when aged 8 weeks. We would like all children to be immunised at the surgery. Our practice nurses are available every Wednesday morning by appointment. Your child can be immunised at other times by arrangement.
If you wish you may see us on your own. Remember you can talk over anything with the practice nurse, health visitor or doctor which you can be sure they will keep private, unless you tell us that your welfare is being put at risk.
Adults travelling aboard
Check with our practice nurse if you are unsure whether you are up to date with tetanus / polio / diphtheria immunisation.
The practice nurse is available to discuss with you vaccinations required for travelling aboard; please let reception know where you will be visiting at the time of making the appointment. There may be a charge for some vaccinations; payment will be required before the vaccination is given.
More information on travel vaccinations can be found here.
Non NHS services and private patients
Some of the services which we offer are not covered by the National Health Service so you will be asked to pay a fee for these in advance. A list of these services and the cost is on display by the reception area. Appointments for private medical examinations need special arrangements so please tell the receptionist when making the appointment.
We are able to see relatives who are visiting the area from abroad, however there may be a charge if we do not have a reciprocal arrangement with the country they have come from.
